Dr. Chunhua Weng Awarded AMIA’s 2025 Donald A.B. Lindberg Award for Innovation in Informatics
Dr. Chunhua Weng, Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University and a longstanding leader in clinical research informatics, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Donald A.B. Lindberg Award for Innovation in Informatics by the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). This award, established in honor of the former Director of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, recognizes a specific technological, research, or educational contribution that has demonstrably advanced the field of biomedical informatics at a national or international level.
Dr. Weng’s research focuses on developing informatics methods that support the full evidence lifecycle in clinical research—from scalable clinical trial eligibility screening and cohort identification using electronic health record (EHR) data to automated extraction, appraisal, and synthesis of clinical evidence.
