Dr. Timothy Wang Receives the 2025 HICCC Distinguished Award

CUAFA Member, Dr. Timothy C. Wang, has been selected to receive the 2025 Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) Distinguished Award in recognition of his exceptional leadership and transformative contributions to science, medicine, and education.

Dr. Wang is an internationally recognized physician-scientist whose pioneering research has fundamentally advanced our understanding of gastrointestinal cancers, including their origins, progression, and the intricate interactions between neural signaling and the tumor microenvironment. His work has had a direct and lasting impact on patient care, shaping new approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

In addition to his scientific achievements, Dr. Wang is a highly respected leader, mentor, and educator. He has played a critical role in advancing translational cancer research and in training and mentoring the next generation of cancer investigators, both within the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center and across the broader academic community.
