Dr. Yiping W. Han Named 2025 AAAS Fellow

CUAFA congratulates our past president, current EC member, Dr. Yiping W. Han for being named a 2025 fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Dr. Han is Professor of Microbial Sciences at Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine and professor of microbiology & immunology, obstetrics & gynecology, and medicine. She was recognized for her groundbreaking work in microbiology, particularly her discoveries showing how oral bacteria like Fusobacterium nucleatum can travel beyond the mouth and contribute to diseases including preterm birth, stillbirth, and gastrointestinal cancer. Her research has also opened new pathways for cancer detection and prevention.
